What is the average mileage for a clutch replacement?
Most clutches are made to last approximately 60,000 miles before they need to be replaced. Some may need replacing at 30,000 and some others can keep going well over 100,000 miles, but this is uncommon.

Can a clutch fail suddenly?
Clutches tend to fail in one of two ways – either suddenly or gradually. A sudden failure is most often caused by a broken or loose clutch cable, link or a failed hydraulic cylinder. A gradual failure will be signs of the clutch slipping, harder to select gears and a noise caused by the clutch bearing.
